Tip of the Week: New to Bluesky? Here’s How to Find Accounts to Follow

Bluesky is the new kid in town regarding social media platforms, which means that most users may not have a significant following on it yet… and new users may not be following many at all. However, a few baked-in options make it much simpler for the latter to curate their experience on the platform.

Let’s go over how a user can find new accounts to follow on Bluesky.

Bluesky Makes It Easy to Find Accounts to Follow

Refer to Lists

Bluesky users can create lists of accounts they find interesting. By accessing another user’s profile and reviewing the lists they’ve made, you can look over the accounts and posts they’ve shared there and follow them.

Access Starter Packs

Similarly, anyone on Bluesky can create Starter Packs, which compile accounts with similar themes or communities. There are thousands of them currently, covering the gamut of interests. By reviewing these packs, you can also follow the included accounts individually or all at once.

Review Your Suggestions

Like many other social media platforms, Bluesky presents users with Suggested accounts, making it easy and convenient to find new accounts to follow.

Search for Them

Next to the Suggested accounts, Bluesky provides a search bar for you to search for any accounts you are interested in.

Check What’s Popular

Bluesky also presents an entire Discover section for a user to review what has been trending, as well as Popular with Friends, which presents what the accounts you follow have engaged with. Looking here may give you some new things to follow.

Many—we’d go so far as to say most, at some times—businesses have a pretty concrete view of the role that their IT plays in operations: cost center, money pit, necessary evil. Something we’ve realized, however, is that these impressions are simply warning signs that a business’ technology strategy and approach need some attention. Let’s identify three signs that might be all too familiar to you, and address what can be done to change course and help turn your IT into a contributing part of your overall productivity.
